From the moment this mom arrived at my Wall, NJ studio, it was clear how excited she was to finally have a session that felt right for her and her growing family.
This was her second pregnancy, and like many moms the second time around, she wanted to slow down and truly savor the moment. She had come across my work online and felt drawn to the softness, connection, and elegance in the images — especially the way motherhood and family bonds are highlighted in every session.
A Second Pregnancy, A Fresh Start
Earlier in her pregnancy, she had already booked maternity photos elsewhere. Unfortunately, it turned into a disappointing experience when the photographer never delivered her images. Understandably, that left her hesitant — but also determined not to let this pregnancy pass undocumented.
When she reached out, my priority was making sure she felt supported, heard, and taken care of from the very beginning. On the day of the session, she arrived for professional hair and makeup — not just for herself, but for her 10-year-old daughter as well. That small detail set the tone for the day: this wasn’t just a maternity session, it was a celebration of motherhood and the bond they share.
Styling That Felt True to Her
For styling, we planned a mix of elevated and relaxed looks to reflect both beauty and authenticity. She brought her own gown for one of the portraits — a piece that felt meaningful and uniquely hers. For another look, she chose a simple white shirt paired with jeans, creating a timeless, effortless feel that allowed the focus to remain on connection rather than clothing.
The neutral palette worked beautifully in the studio, keeping the images clean, emotional, and classic. Even though the session took place in my Wall, NJ studio, many of my clients travel from Toms River, NJ because they’re looking for a maternity photoshoot that feels intentional, guided, and calm — without the pressure of outdoor locations or unpredictable weather.
