Most women are a little hesitant at the beginning of their session. Being photographed while pregnant can feel vulnerable, especially when your body doesn’t feel familiar.
You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose or feeling completely confident. I’ll guide you through every detail and show you the photographs as we work. That’s usually when everything begins to change. You relax, your confidence grows, and eventually you start posing without waiting for me to tell you what to do.
You’re Allowed to Have Complicated Feelings About Pregnancy
Pregnancy doesn’t always feel beautiful. Your body may feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or completely different from what you’re used to.
I understand that. I didn’t always enjoy my own pregnancy, and I would never expect you to pretend that every part of it feels wonderful.
My job isn’t to judge how you feel. It’s to help you see the beautiful, strong woman who is bringing your child into the world.

My maternity sessions are designed to remove as much planning and pressure as possible.
Professional hair and makeup, wardrobe access, posing guidance, and thoughtful retouching are all included. We’ll discuss your ideas before the session, and I’ll help you choose looks that photograph well and feel like you.
When you arrive, you can sit down for hair and makeup, unplug for a little while, and let us take care of you.
You don’t need to perform for the camera. My approach is calm, patient, and direct. I’ll tell you exactly what to do with your hands, where to look, and how to move while still allowing the photographs to feel natural.
Thoughtful Retouching That Still Looks Like You
Pregnancy can bring temporary changes that you may not want emphasized in your photographs. I approach retouching from a woman’s perspective and take care of the details I know might bother you.
The goal is never to change who you are or make you look unrecognizable. It is to create polished photographs in which you still look and feel like yourself.

01. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT?
I typically recommend scheduling your maternity session between 28 and 34 weeks. At that point, your belly is usually well defined, but you are often still comfortable enough to enjoy the session. If you are already past that timeframe, please still reach out. We can decide what timing makes the most sense based on how you are feeling.
02. DO YOU PROVIDE WARDROBE OPTIONS FOR MATERNITY SESSIONS?
Yes! My Wall, NJ studio offers a curated collection of maternity dresses, bodysuits, silks, and fabrics. Bring your own outfits too.
I’ll help you choose the options that photograph well and feel most like you.
03. CAN MY PARTNER OR CHILDREN BE INCLUDED IN THE PHOTO SHOOT?
Yes. Your partner and children are welcome to be included. We can create family and couple portraits while still keeping the maternity session focused on you. We’ll discuss the balance you want while planning your session.
04. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK MY MATERNITY SESSION?
I recommend reaching out during your second trimester whenever possible, especially if you’re hoping for a specific timeframe.
05. WHERE IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO LOCATED?
My private and inviting studio is located in Wall, Monmouth County, in Central New Jersey. Conveniently situated, it’s just about an hour from NYC.
