At my Wall, NJ studio, I recently had the pleasure of working with Jess. She is a content creation coach and virtual assistant. This was her very first personal branding photoshoot.
Jess came to me with a clear mission: to build a versatile and lasting gallery of brand photos that would help her connect with her ideal clients and support the messaging behind her coaching program.
This session was all about storytelling. We focused on creating personal brand imagery that was more than just pretty photos. Her branding photos needed to work for her brand across multiple platforms. From social media and her website to email marketing and client resources. Jess wanted visuals that could be reused, repurposed, and resonate.
Brand Messaging Themes We Focused On
As we planned her session, we aligned her photos with brand themes like:
Approachability and Trust – Jess wanted to look warm and open, like someone you could immediately connect with and trust to help grow your business.
Confidence in Action – Capturing moments that show her doing the work, leading with purpose, and showing up for her clients.
Professionalism with Personality – A polished look without being overly formal, allowing her personality to shine through every image.
Ease and Clarity – Her content is all about simplifying online business, so we aimed to reflect that through clean, intentional imagery.
Client Goals: Longevity & Authenticity
Jess didn’t just need images for her next Instagram post. She wanted a cohesive, professional gallery that would last. That meant thinking ahead, creating versatile content she could use not only on her feed, but also on her website, inside her client welcome guides, and throughout her offers.
Equally important: the images needed to look like her. Jess asked for photos that felt natural, not overly posed, and true to her. She wanted to feel confident putting these photos into the world, and the only way to do that was to ensure they felt aligned with her personality and brand voice.
The Planning Process
We started with a consultation at my studio in Wall, NJ, where I learned more about her brand voice, content strategy, and business goals. From there, we collaborated on a Pinterest mood board to visualize her aesthetic, clean, modern, and down-to-earth brand.
I also did a deep dive into her existing website and social media to create a custom shot list that would tell her story with purpose and clarity.
From concept to execution, this session was built to support Jess in showing up confidently and consistently across all areas of her business.
