Branding and Headshot Session with Architect Dana
When we think of architects, the image that often comes to mind is a man in a suit, perhaps holding blueprints or standing in front of a construction site. But did you know that only 23% of architects are women? This statistic shows the importance of diversity and breaking away from stereotypes in professional imagery.
Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Dana, a talented architect who wanted something truly unique for her branding and headshot session. Dana wasn’t interested in the typical professional headshot. She wanted to express her personality through shapes and pops of color, creating images that reflected her individuality and vibrant approach to her work.
During our session in my studio in Wall, New Jersey, we explored different poses and backdrops. One of the advantages of my studio is the ability to view images in real-time. With my camera connected to my laptop, Dana and I were able to review photos immediately. This setup allows us to make any necessary adjustments on the spot, ensuring that we are always on the same page.
We experimented with various compositions, colors, and angles until we found the ones that resonated most with Dana’s vision. The result? Stunning branding photos that showcased her as not just an architect but an artist.
Dana was happy with the final images. They were a true reflection of her personality.
It was a session that reminded me of why I love what I do – capturing the essence of women and their stories through my lens.
